There is heightened tension at Protor, near Kintampo North in the Brong Ahafo following reports of chieftaincy clashes involving gunshots in the area. About three houses have so been burnt with some residents fleeing the town. Reasons behind the conflict are not yet known, but residents believe a long-standing chieftaincy dispute between two chiefs could be behind the latest clashes.
Reports available to Pulse.com.gh indicates that the parliamentary candidate for the Shai Osudoku constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress has died. He was said to have died Thursday night on the spot in the crash which occurred at Juaso in the Asante Akyem South District of Ashanti Region.

The Ghana Armed Forces now has their first female Brigadier General. Colonel Constance Ama Emefa Edjeani – Afenu, now Brigadier General was at the Junior Division of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in the early 1990s. She is currently the Deputy Military Adviser of the Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations, New York, USA.

Five hundred (500) students of Kperisi M.A. Primary School in Wa have benefitted from free furniture which was provided by the Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Dr. Bawumia’s presentation was in fulfillment of the promise he made last week to provide desks to the pupils following media reports which highlighted the deplorable conditions under which the pupils in the school were studying.
